Does anyone know about this?(edited)

Bought by the BBC?

Hbsw, translation, please?
Btw, I'm very surprised at all the hate for Marlene's acting on the MBs...why? I like her...but of course this is my first experience with telenovelas so I have nothing to compare her to.

This basically says the BBC has brought the novela. I was just wondering if it is the Actual Novela with Meier/Favela or will they recreate it. This wasn't clear to me.(This line especially had me confused, proyecto que la mantiene alejada de alguna posible relación amorosa, pero no así de su familia because it says they maintain a remote loving relationship but not actually thier family.)

With MF I think a lot of people had seen her in "Gata Salvaje"(The Savage Cat) and thought she didn't act. I saw some of "Contra viento y marea" and can see where some of the criticism comes from. For me I think she doesn't have layers where you really "need to feel" her I think you get the words instead of her emotions.

I will clarify I have not seen her in this but that is what I think People are refering to. They like the character because she is written well but MF hasn't made her "her own". Like she goes through the motions without ever connecting to "the moments" she's in.

They especially feel this in romantic scenes with CM where you need to feel the passion of these2 people who have never experienced these feelings and are willing to risk everything for their moments, their love.

Also I think people expected to see Zorro in a production called Zorro. They want the love aspect but they tuned in to see Zorro be clever, out run, out manuever, help the needy, get the bad guy. Yet that is lacking. Many have starting calling this Zorra(female fox) because they feel she is outshining the star. For some they saw an excellent opportunity for CM but feel he is secondary here. Which is a waste of his talent.

To me it is not so much hate, though some comments I wonder, as a Dissapointment of what they hoped to see and come from this.

My comments got long, so forgive me, I hope you were able to make it to the end. Hope this helps!

The BBC might broadcast episodes in Europe? I'm assuming the confusing text relates to the fact the BBC is not part of the NBC/Telemundo production family, but in this case they will help promote this series non-competitively.

I do agree that so far there is very little Zorro action (i.e. the rescues, serving the cause, etc).--though last night there was the big plaza rescue scene. Even those serve to further the romantic storyline and create more of the heroic mystique of Zorro. So I understand why folks who expect more heroism would be disappointed. Do you agree with the posters? I can see how the casting frustrations will prohibit their enjoyment of the show overall but it helps to "suspend all belief" -- after all it is a soap opera!

I liked your explaination that is probably what they meant. I do wonder if the BBCA will later play it?

I am a Zorro fan first so I always want Diego to be the center and I understand the mold for Esme being Catherine Zeta-Jones' character. I think they reworked the original story they had planned to fit MF strengths. Making her even fiestier in doing this I think the focus changed. I don't mind a heroine in fact I like the idea, I just think you balance the story. It is called Zorro.
