Question
I just saw a new promo for telemundo and it says zorro is endin in july is this true
shareYeah that is what we were talking about here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0841921/board/thread/70311054 the last 2 post specifically. I read the taping will be finished July 7, so if they are 2-3 weeks ahead of the broadcast that means the end of July(July 27 as first reported) or early August(still on by August 3rd). No official word.
Man i guess it didnt do well if they are ending it so early?
shareI'm sorry, but I disagree with the idea that Zorro is ending early because it's not doing well. Everything I've read indicates that the show is a hit due to many factors such as the casting, set and costume design, music score etc. But I believe the best aspect of the show is in the story telling. It's a grand, sweeping epic in the spirit of Gone with The Wind, written with style and wit.
And at 120 hours, this telenovela is the equivalent of 6 seasons on any of the major networks. A lot of work goes into this one, and it pays off.
Of course I will be sad to see it end, but perhaps the response is great enough for there to be another Zorro story in the future...and if we're lucky, with the same cast!
I think it did O.K. Never what they completely expected. Don Browne spoke that the whole Primetime ratings were not what they wanted:
Still a distant second to Univision, Telemundo has been plowing tens of millions of dollars in original production the past four years. Prexy Don Browne stressed the company's commitment to its content strategy despite some missteps. "The primetime ratings are not where we thought they'd be," he conceded.
