DVD??

Is there any chance of a DVD release? I came into the series after Esme learned Diego's secret. Even though I've caught up on the story line I'd like to see the beginning. Besides I grew up with Zorro and I'm glad he's back!! And from what I've seen, I would want to make this a part of my collection!!

I don't think you missed that much. He told her within the week it started(Feb 12th). I am sure they will release this on DVD but that won't be for a while since there are at least 93 more episodes, maybe more if the rumor is true that it will be extended.
Hopefully they won't abridged it so those who haven't seen it can watch all of it!

This will probably be released on DVD, but not in a complete edition. Telemundo generally edits their novelas down to a 12-hour miniseries for home video release. Releasing a giant 120-episode box set just isn't economically justified.

reply

Yes, I know but for those who don't get Telemundo that is the only way to see it.
It is silly they think people won't but all the episodes of a novela they like. Don't they look at the websites that sell whole novelas. There is a market!

reply

I also don't see a problem. They could sell it in boxed sets of 22-25 episodes so it would be no different than buying a TV series. If they can put Old TV shows on DVD for purchase, why not this??? I would buy it!!

Not to mention that DVD releases happen after novelas end on TV.

What I would love to see the networks do instead is to do "feature film" versions of the novela stories simultaneously that would use key scenes from the novelas. Scenes like Juan and Monica's wedding night in CORAZON SALVAJE, Esmeralda and Diego's first tryst in ZORRO, the waterfall scene in PASION DE GAVILANES, etc. Thus far I've seen several of the cut-down DVD editions of novelas I've watched in their entirety and some leave out things that make later events incomprehensible.

I just found this link - it seems to be an official release, not a bootleg:

No idea whether this is a Telemundo-authorized release, though they certainly charge $ like it is :)

My biggest concern would be that the dvds will be cut and edited, it won't be like what I saw on youtube, you know what I mean.
