deserving of a wide(r) release / black and white

I truly feel that this is one of the most important documentaries ever, and should be seen by as many people as possible.

Yeah - there is a lot of disturbing imagery. There's some irony in the discussion of whether or not it's suitable for all ages; although I really don't know if I like the idea of showing the film to somebody not mature enough to understand the intellectual content of the film, but mature enough to be emotionally affected (traumatized?) by the graphic visuals... but this film should be screened by everyone capable of understanding the abstract debates surrounding abortion.

Should it be part of public high school sex-ed / health curriculums? Should it be (freely?) distributed / endorsed by Planned Parenthood et al.?

[personally, I feel that this film provides the most appropriate context for this imagery possible.]

On a separate note...

That the film is in black and white is another irony (there's absolutely nothing black-and-white about the documentary); yet, if it were in color, it would have no chance of a wider distribution. Out of curiosity, how do you guys feel about the choice to shoot in b&w? Would you / other audiences react differently if it were in color?

hey .. i think what you wrote is great .. although I got kinda bummed when I found out that it was in Black & White but im sure it would leave a different impression if it was seen in Color ... but it sure does make your mouth drop anyway ...

I think it should be shown in Highschool ... Most Highschools nowadays hand out Condoms for FREE ... you think the kids are smart enough to use them? Sadly No .. maybe if they saw this it would make them think twice ...

i would think that some of the more graphic scenes in this film (think a lot of blood on the hands of the abortion doctor) would be even more disturbing and would probably not allow for it to be shown all too much.

the black and white allows the viewer to keep a little bit of distance to the already gripping scenes.
