Abortion and Religion, two unanswerable questions...

I will be hypocritical after saying this but here goes... there will never be a defined answer about either of these debates and that's why they will never go away. People will continue to gain intensity in each debate until it leads them to anger and hostility and finally violence. Didn't Yoda teach us anything?

What baffles me is how these two debates get so intertwined. Religious people confuse me to no end. From Islamic extremists who give their life for Allah because another group disagrees with them, to pro-life extremists who kill doctors who provide nothing more than a service.

I can understand why people will go to certain lengths for something they believe in but at the cost of others feelings, sufferings or deaths? Isn't that a complete contradiction of what they truly believe from religion? How can somebody kill somebody else because the person they are killing is a killer? Doesn't that mean they are next? Irony or hypocrisy?

I'm not religious for several reasons. Here's one, believing in something so strong will only lead to resentment of those who contradict. That resentment can lead to uncontrollable rage, is that really what god intended? Religion only perpetuates resentment through our natural defense mechanisms. I’ve seen people get in fist fights over proving which local sports team is the best, what about those who feel equally as strong about their eternal salvation?
The best thing to do about religion and abortion or any other unanswerable issues is to have your own personal belief and keep it to yourself. You might want to change things but you’ll only make things worse for yourself and others. Forcing your beliefs on others is threatening to others and to be frank, un-Christ-like.

So with this I'm done expressing my opinion on either subject, because I don't want anybody to hate me for me being me.
