These issues are used to keep you docile

Abortion, gay marriage, democrat, republican, flag burning, "patriotism".

These are not real issues. They are fake. They are very basic things that would not be argued over in a smarter world. Unfortunately, we do not live in that world and so most of us remain blind to the fact that these issues are simple. It's just 1000 years of propaganda designed to keep people divided so that the few can control the many.

Of course you feel strongly about it. We all do. But it's a trick. A cheat. The words make you feel things that aren't there. The words lie. They create implications and innuendo to things that don't exist. And they convince you to care about this rather than the larger issues. The words convince you to care about liberal vs. conservative instead of The Military Industrial Complex versus basic human dignity.

And those who control the words, control your ability to construct arguments and view the facts. Because the words have been so poisoned on this topic, it becomes very hard to apply real, clear logic.

Think macro. REALLY macro. You're focusing on the content. But the very medium that carries the message puts blinders on you can chains you down.
