Let me start by saying I am RESERVING any opinion I may or may not have on this topic; I am just wondering because I met someone who said their mother was pro-life and pro-death penalty.
I realize these are very different things, and I just wanted to see what people thought of it.

Absolutely. There's a very fine line between the execution of an innocent baby and a convicted felon. I would think all rational people would understand this.
What about the other side of the coin: How many here are pro-abortion/choice, but anti-death penalty?

It's completely hypocritical to be "pro-life" but also be pro-death penalty. If you believe life is sacred, no matter what, then how can you justify the killing of a human being?

Killing is obviously allowed to protect life. A life sentence does neutralize the immediate threat, but capital punishment might deter future killers. Some argue that killers don't care, and I tend to agree that many are reckless or self-loathing, so the death penalty would really be a stage in their suicide. In which case the death penalty is more like miscarriage than abortion. Of course I can't help the guy that thinks blasphemers should be executed.
On the other hand, how can a woman be "pro-choice" when she totally denies her child choice?
