Is it because the game was made by a japanese company or something? Uusually when a movie or video shows an american saving british people, the brits whine about it for years (IE Independence day). Why no whining about Hale? lol

Movies like "The patriot", and "Independence Day" which display the birtish as idiots, villians, or needing american help have always seem to pissed the British off. In this case its an american man seemingly leading the british military ON BRITISH soil, saving the planet lol.
I am just surprised more british people don't complain like they did in those other movies.

There is a scene of a royal air force platoon in the desert.. They get a morris code message from the United States about a planned attack, and one of the soliders goes "Well its about bloody time, what do they plan to do....."
The insinuation is the british need the americans to tell them what to do before they can do anything.
you could take that statement another way. It could be "its about bloody time someone else saved the world instead of always waiting on us to do something"orits about bloody time the americans thought of something while the rest of the world (apart from russia and japan) has already destroyed the aliens Also Hale could not have defeated the chimera without Parker, Cartwright or the rest of the British army.

now if we get back to the point due to the story of Resistance europe is totally overrun and the UK has few men left. of course the Americans would come to our rescue in that sort of situation.
I guess alot of the backlash didnt appear on these boards because the americans get anihalated straight away in the game.

I dont see why we would be pissed off, if anything the game portays the brits better than it does the Americans.
1. The chimera take all of europe in weeks, When they finaly dug under the english channel it took them 3 months to "defeat" Britain (yet theres still plenty of people alive and well).
2. The british have a way to stop the chimera, this is why the Americans send troops... its not because the americans are being the "world police out to save the day", but becuase they know they are going to be just as screwed as everybody else if they dont help us help them.
3. The americans get completely massacred in their landing, only 1 man survives due to blind luck that he can control the virus.
4. Hale then owes almost all of his actions to the Chimeran virus thats making him faster and stronger... he ceases to be "human".
5. Its the british army that fight the chimera and provide Hale with the chance to stop them in Britain once and for all.
Exactly what part of that are we Brits meant to hate?
And why do you think Brits hate Independance day? other than its a corny as hell politicaly correct love fest wich doesnt stand the test of time.
As I said earlier no if its Mutant monster, evil aliens, communists, islamofacists. America always saves the day :D

I think the main problem we Brits have with any american saving the world scenario is tied in with the rewriting history with regard to WWII

Churchill literally begged Roosevelt to "save us from chaos" from 1940 on. The American's didn't even enter the European theatre until 1944. If we didn't... Britian would have fallen. Churchill admitted it, why can't you?

The first solider goes "It's the Americans.... I think they have a plan".... the other guy then replies "It's about bloody time, what do they plan to do about it".
Meanwhile if you look in the backround the brits are stationed in the Iraqi desert showing odd human "unity" against the Aliens.

your way off in the plot there buddy. The "plan" was when Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum went to the mothership and implanted the computer virus. That's what took down the sheids, not Quaid commiting sucide. Quaid comited suicide when everyone ran out of missles shooting them at the side of the ship when the sheilds were already down.

And just becuase its a "summer blockbuster" doesn't mean it HAS to pro american. Look at movies like contact or V for Vendetta. In Contact it took a Japanese businessman's greed to build a second "machine". In V for Vendetta the entire USA is gone and burnt british man saves the world from fascism.

The only thing "historical" in that movie is that the general of the british was indeed Cornwallis.....
That movie made the british army look like a group of animals (which they were not)... a southern plantation owner so "god like" that black "free" people worked his land for free (there was no such thing as a free black man in south carolina during the 18th century)...... and that one man was able to kill entire platoons of the finest military in the world.
As a big time history buff you are way WAY off saying that this was a historical movie... it was a propeganda movie. What you said would be like me saying "Indiana Jones proves the arc of the covenant really does exist" lol
