Don't be surprised about this...

White people are the majority at IMDB,so of course they are going to rate "black" movies poorly , even if they haven't seen them and start confrontational posts about how there are no white people in the movie and just nitpick about random, insignificant details because they don't want to just come out and say: I'm a dumb *beep* i n g degenerate racist who can't watch a movie withouht being an ignorant j a c k a s s .

"Dici che tutti bianchi sono racisti perche' i film di Tyler Perry non piacciono a loro (ma questo e' giusto, davvero? Se una persona non vede il genio di un uomo quarantienne vestito come una vecchia donna e gridando dialogo orribile, si deve essere un racisto, no?)"

Enough said.

Ok, I rarely post on here. But please do not throw out blanket statements referring to all white people. I know some white people are racist and dont want a "black movie" to do well so they vote it low. A movie is a movie, I vote on it based on how well I like it, not what color the actors and directors are.

Did you actually just say that? like seriously? Dude, get over yourself!

So I checked out the Robert guy's other comments. Just make sure you spell correctly when you write a comment that he is certain to read. I must say that I do find it interesting that of the 3 Christmas orientated movies that are being released this year 2 are primarily black films. (Should I have counted that Magorium film? and made it 4 with this and "This Christmas",and "Fred Claus" rounding out the slate?) I was going to make some sort of Black Christmas joke, but nothing seemed to work out right there. I kind of find it hard to believe that people would even vote on a film that they have not seen, but you never know.

i am white and i loved the movie-- i don't go by the color of the skin-- i go by the movie itself....matter of fact - soul food, Deliver Us from Eva, Daddy's Little Girls,The Best Man, The Brothers and a whole bunch of "black movies" happen to be my favorite movies.....we are NOT all racial...just wanted to everyone know that...thanks :)

reply

I'm not really going to get in the middle of this race war that people want to start except to say that it's stupid to rate a movie you haven't seen for ANY reason.

reply

I'm black and I think this one is going to stink. Not because it has black characters but because it has bad writers and is mainly being made to profit off of the holidays.

reply

I think the attitude stems from the fact that some whites are so conditioned to being at the "center". And since black films have nothing to do with them they "lash" out.

basically...

I imagine most of those who are rating movies 1/10 without seeing them are 13 year olds. Certainly such users aren't adults nor do they represent those of us who are caucasian.

Merry Christmas! Ho, ho, ho!

Such a whiny little bitch.

Hey DeadPrezGirl I see your point with this

Unfortunatly, "black" movies are enforced with stereotypes and very narrow characters. A movie in the first place shouldnt have the color of someones skin attached to it. As well, there are so many poor rated movies that are not consiered 'black' movies so your premises for your arguement are not valid.

reply

Hey, hey, both Fred Clauss and This Christmas had unbelievable numbers of 1/10 and 10/10 ratings and I imagine this movie will do. I'm sure those 1/10 votes for Christmas family movies are coming from 13 year lds who haven't seen them, and the 10/10 votes are coming from those who liked the movie in question and are way overrating it just to keep the kiddies from putting it in the bottom 100.

Also

I think people started getting sick on Christmas comedies ever since National Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Its been overdone

And "black christmas comedies" are so overdone

reply

Hey, hey, Christmas Vacation was one of a kind and may neer be surpassed, but I don't think people will ever tire of Christmas comedies. But the IMDb ratings will probably be as phony as the ones for Fred Claus and This Christmas unless the kids decide to see the movie before they rate it.
