Compelling, tragic, devastating story, however...

The acting is ATROCIOUS. Mostly from the mom. She made me laugh in places where I should not have been laughing, her acting was so bad. The accent was ridiculous, and I'm not from the south but it still sounded exaggerated, fake, and downright silly. But I see a lot of other posts about the terrible accents so I won't go into that. Also, the behavior and reactions from the family were totally unbelievable. They came across as not as concerned as I'm sure they must have been in real life. My daughter wandered away and got lost in a department store when she was four and I immediately went around, nearly panicking as I searched desperately for her. Luckily she was found quickly, but it was the scariest few minutes of my life. The dread I felt was overpowering and nearly unfathomable unless you've been there. I couldn't imagine what this family went through. I feel like they failed to convey that in any way in this movie.I realize this is a Lifetime movie, but I've seen much better from them. I can't believe that any of the main actors are professionals in the film industry. It's really a shame because this story deserves to be told in a much better way than this...

Also, are people really so stupid and careless with their children, especially the lady who let's her daughter get picked up by some random creepy old man who lives next door??? It's sad and scary to think that this kind of thing happens in real life...
