Question Regarding Tory's Visions of Hope

I've seen this movie a few times now and have a question that might have been addressed in the book (which I haven't read). Why doesn't Hope just tell Tory who the killer is?

Good point. There would be no movie if she did of course. And that is always the problem with these stories about supernatural powers. The powers can never interfere with the plot.

That was the issue in the book(and I haven't read it in a few years). The killer asked her the same question 'why couldn't you see me?' and Tory's reply was something like, 'there was never anything there. . .just darkness'. She claimed that his thoughts weren't human - a monster's - therefore never able to get a 'read' on him.
Also Tory always only saw through the eyes of the killer (or through the people she had visions for), and it was dark in the woods the night Hope was killed, she didn't see her killer.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to go back and re-watch the part where Hope gets killed. It didn't seem as if it was too dark but, of course, the filmmakers had to light it so you could see Hope being murdered. But it being too dark for Hope to see her killer would certainly explain why she never told Tory.

On a side note: I've seen most of the Nora Roberts' movies and have to say, I'm almost more interested in her "supporting" characters' romance as her leads. I really should put her on my authors to read list.

Whenever anyone asks about her visions about Hope she says that she couldn't see inside the killer's head because it was just blank and she mentions this again after Shelly and her mother are murdered she says that she saw the same blank space. And when she's fighting with the murderer at the end he lets her see inside his head and she sees all of the murders through his eyes. I think the blank space thing was just implying that the killer was a sociopath who had no feelings or emotions and felt no guilt for what he'd done.
