were you pulling for Doug MacCray ??

I must admit I was.

I have to admit that I was not pulling for Doug MacRay. Nor was I pulling for Claire, after the crap that she pulled, either. The fact that Doug MacRay and his men knocked over her bank at gunpoint wasn't her fault, but her involvement with Doug MacRay in a romantic relationship, her arrogance and bitchiness towards FBI agt. Frawley, and Claire's refusal to sever contacts with Doug MacRay even after she learned, courtesy of FBI Agt. Frawley, who Doug MacRay was and what he was up to dissolved the sympathy and understanding that I had for Claire.

Me too.

reply

Nope. I was pulling for the policeman all the way.

reply

I, too, was on the side of the police, Adam Frawley the FBI Special investigations version, and the other law enforcement people.

reply

Well he did get away....unless you were watching that alternate cut...

In the original theatre cut of "The Town", Doug did get away, but he skipped town without Claire for a reason: taking her with him would've put her in the line of fire, because the FBI, which is a national organization, would still be looking for him. That was obvious, when FBI Agt. Frawley said, towards the end of the film, in reference to Doug MacRay, " We know what he (meaning Doug MacRay) looks like. We'll find him." That being said, the chances are that Doug would've been caught, perhaps violently, and either brought to justice (i. e. charged in a court of law with his crimes, and sentenced to a long-time, if not a lifelong term, in a federal prison, or gunned down by the law right then and there.

In the extended/Alternative version of "The Town", however, Doug was gunned down by one of the Dominican guys that he'd permanently crippled for harassing Claire.
