THIS MOVIE IS BASED ON ACTUAL EVENTS!

Then at the end it says "The persons and events in this motion picture are fictitious any similarity to any persons or events is unintentional".

What the hell.

Chef,

As you probably know, that's a standard disclaimer at the end of pretty much every movie, even those based on actual events. They do it to keep someone from coming forward and saying, "Hey! That's about me! You put my life on the big screen! PAY ME MONEY!" (Well, it might not keep people from asking for money, but it helps the lawyers who represent the movie studios when it goes to court.)

As stated, the movie was based on actual events. The Highland Rugby team was and is coached by Larry Gelwix, who appears in the film as one of the referees. I heard that they won the national championship again this year (but I haven't confirmed it). I live in Salt Lake and have several friends who played on the team. They all say that Coach Gelwix is a great guy.

In case you're interested, it came out on DVD yesterday. It's available at www.deseretbook.com.
