gain some speed and play wing.I can garunteee no one will touch you then.

reply

hahahahaha, there's no way you can play rugby without getting some form of injury at somepoint in your career. wings can actually get eben more injured as they are fast and tend to score the most tries the other teams tend to target them.

Rugby player here (college and men's league)
Play it
You may get injuries but they will most likely be minor. I personally have not had a major one, just sprained ankles and a minor concussion.
Most teams welcome new players, no matter what age range. Go practice and try hard and you will be accepted. I highly recommend it to anyone of any degree of athletic abilty.

Don't even worry about it, just find a team and play. In all my years of playing and watching games, I've never seen any serious injuries. It is hands down the greatest sport you will ever play, and this is coming from a girl.

I played rugby for 18 years and very few injuries although I did have a very severe knee injury which basically ended my playing days. It was the usual thing playing at lower level club rugby where there always thugs and nutters about with no real interest in the game other than injuring and maiming people. Still no regrets and if I had my time over again I would definitely play the game but would probably work a bit harder at it and get to a higher level than I played at. As for wingers not getting injured Thom Evans the Scotland suffered a horrendeous injury playing against Wales last week on the wing while Rory Lamont the other Scottish winger in that game was also injured.

I played for around ten years, and never sustained a major injury.

On the other hand I know someone who took a heart attack jogging!

So did you ever go give it a go? Curious...
