Do you people actually like Cook?

I've been watching through Netflix and I am about halfway through the third season/series/whatever and once his character started talking and acting the way he does I wanted to beat the hell out of him. He likes to do stuff out of spite to his friends, he's a douche bag, and he's downright annoying. I live in southern California and he is the kind of person I'm surrounded by. The fact that every girl sleeps with him instantly makes it worse since I feel like he isn't even attractive. Especially over his nice and normal friend.

I feel like the writers were trying to find a new Chris, but Chris was actually funny, charming, and knew exactly what his faults were even in the episodes where he was drugged out of his mind. I feel like I should have listened to friends and stopped after season 2. I liked Effy a lot better as Tonys messed up/mischievous sister because they at least showed Tony being protective of her when he could. Now she's just a selfish where that I wouldn't even want to try and talk to.

End of rant.

Cook is funny, but he's definitely a selfish bastard, not to mention a liability. The sad thing is, a lot of people don't like his "nice and normal friend", Freddie, because they don't think he's very exciting, but in real life, I wonder who they'd rather be mates with?

Yeah, the similarities between Cook and Chris are highlighted several times, so it's safe to say the writers were trying to create a new Chris, but with an edge. As for Effy, she should have died. If you make it to season 7, you'll see how Cook has evolved. While I didn't care much for season 7, Cook not acting like a fool anymore was a welcome change.

I would love to have a friend like Freddy instead of Cook anyday.

Cook weas the best thing about generation 3 & 4 tbh

I found Cook to be repulsive when I first started the second generation. I found a new love for him in the series finale(season 7) RISE. I think he is a very talented actor, I look forward to seeing him in other projects.

You people. If there isn't a movie about it, its not worth knowing, is it?

I remember watching This Is England years ago and I guess he was in it. I don't exactly remember his character, but I do remember loving the movie. I just hate Cook. To me, he has no redeeming values. If he was raised terribly then it will just be the cliche "poor me, I'm worthless so that's why i act the way I do" and I can't stand that.

I'm starting to realize why I don't like this new generation. The first cast seemed more realistic to me and a little easier to relate to. They were just kids having fun and in the end they all end up going away to school or just moving. I've read spoilers on where Effy and Cook and all of them go and it just seems like it's very "let's push the envelope" status. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but we'll see.

I think Cook might be the best thing in the whole Skins Saga. This is why:

You start by seeing this twat that is an absolute douchebag in the process, a man that wants only to do spliff, women and be a pain in the ass. But further you go in the series, you see the real cook. The one that loves his friends more than they realise. JJ and Freddie were his whole life, he would had given his life for them, even if he was a prick with them and then his relationship with Effy. Yeah, she chose Freddy, but how many would do what he did? Let her go and be happy for both of them.
When she had that breakdown, Cook took care of her and finally he got her to Freddy. I had the same feeling about you Fearisreligion, i hated him so much and i was angry when he showed up at the window with Effy in front of Freddy, but what happend after that made Cook to be the best character in the whole Skins saga.

For me at least.

Remember, remember the 5th of november

I'm half-way through series 3 - watching for the first time - and whilst he's the best character so far, I definately found him repulsive to begin with.

I never really liked Cook until the very last 2 episodes. Even though, I always felt he was who he was because he really was never loved..well, at home. Yet, there was a certain code of honor about him, yet he existed in such a hopeless world. Maybe we'll check in with Cook in a few years and see where he wondered too.
