Rank post-Skins success

Which actors do you think have been the most successful post-Skins?
1. Nicholas Hoult
2. Dev Patel
3. Jack O'Connell
4.?
5.?
6.?

I agree with Nicholas Hoult being the most successful/famous, although I think a lot of that has to do with his past relationship with Jennifer Lawrence.

2. Hannah Murray/Joe Dempsie - both have recurring roles on Game of Thrones and impressively haven't been killed off yet after quite a few seasons.

3. Dev Patel/Kaya Scodelario - Kaya is in the Maze Runner series as well as the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean, and of course Dev Patel in Slumdog Millionaire.

4. Kathryn Prescott (Emily) - She's in the MTV show Finding Carter.

5. Jack O'Connell - although I only put him because of his movie Angelina Jolie directed.

To be honest, I don't think any other character has done any sort of mainstream acting after Skins. The character of Frankie, Dakota Blue Richards, was in The Golden Compass when she was younger with Nicole Kidman. Other then that, Skins was the highlight of a lot of the cast's acting careers. (not that that's a bad thing, Skins is awesome!)

Joe Dempsie hasn't been on Game Of Thrones for a couple of seasons though. Hanna Murray's character has been getting more screen time as the show goes on.

To the OP:

I'd say Kaya is doing well for herself. She's the female lead in a relatively successful movie series. (I haven't seen The Maze Runner, but I'm guessing the first did well enough to warrant a sequel.) Dev Patel was doing well, and I think he's still getting regular work. I think Airbender and Chappie both bombed though, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't continue to do well.

Luke Pasqualino and Sean Teale have had steady work in their own shows, so I'd say they're fine. Honestly I think for an actor, as long as you're getting regular work you're doing well, whether on film or in television. It's also difficult to know what they're doing just with IMDb, the website doesn't credit any stage work, which a lot of English actors do.

I'm writing a play. It's a cross between Glee and The Road.

Absolute farce putting O'Connell at number 5. I'd put him 2nd behind Hoult but only just. Luke Pasqualino at number 3 also due to his role in The Musketeers. Which also, sort of funnily has Dr Foster in it aswell.

Very good list, thanks! great show, addicted, and of the granddad generation, ex hippy from the sixties!.. this one TALKS to everyone, def one of the best ever about kids, growing up, young love, angst against the machine, drugs, rage, sickness, you name it.. great writing and acting.. from the US side, this is a level all our stuff about youth, this one has depth, complexity, and an understanding of many personality types

BRILLIANT WORK! KUDOS TO ALL THE ACTORS

My only regret in life is that I'm not someone else - Woody Allen

Jack O'Connell is easily the best actor, his performances in starred up and 71 showed he already is a great actor, although Nicholas hoult has also had good success as well

reply

1. Nicholas Hoult, obviously
2. Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner, Pirates of the Caribbean)
3. Hannah Murray (GOT)
4. Jack O'C
5. Kat Prescott
6. Joe Dempsie (I expect his character to make a return)

The guy that played Nic is starring in a Ben Affleck & Matt Damon produced show, so he should be one to watch. Also, actors that played Grace and Matty are both currently starring in a show on FREEFORM.

1. Nicholas Hoult

3. Kaya Scodelario
4. Dev Patel
5. Luke Pasqualino
6. Sebastian De Souza
7. Hannah Murray

reply

Snap I forgot about Dev lol! But Sebastian de Souza before Hannah Murray???? Lol not one to gripe at something like this, but she is on an internationally acclaimed show, arguably the most popular tv show in recent history, at that. I expect big things from her. I always thought she played Cassie so perfectly.

Nicholas Hoult - forging a successful film career

Jack O'Connell - forging a successful film career

Dev Patel - forging a successful film and tv career but long term, I don't think he'll have the success that Nicolas and Jack are having

Joe Dempsie - long running actor in Game of Thrones.

Luke Pasqualino - seems to be forging a successful tv career. He's been cast as a regular in the new series of the BBC's 'Our Girl' after playing d'Artagnan in the BBC's Musketeers for three series.

Kaya S - whilst she's appeared in The Maize Runner, she's not actually had a significant lead role since leaving Skins

Lily Loveless - always working but like with Kaya, hasn't had a significant lead role since leaving Skins.

Nicholas Hoult- starred in movies like Mad Max: Fury Road (he was incredible and one of the most popular characters), Warm Bodies, Jack the Giant Slayer, and is apart of the X-Men movies. I would say he's easily the most successful. Dating Jennifer Lawrence for several years also didn't hurt.

Jack O'Connell- finding a ton of mainstream success in Unbroken (starring role in a movie directed by Angelina Jolie) and Money Monster (another starring role opposite George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and directed by Jodie Foster. He's not quite as successful as Nicholas Hoult just yet, but he's getting there.

Kaya Scodelario- starring in the Maze Runner movies and is the new female lead for the upcoming Pirates of the Carribean movie. I think her career is definitely reaching new heights.

Sean Teale, Hannah Murray, Joe Dempsie, Luke Pasqualino, Kathryn Prescott, and Dev Patel are all doing pretty well. They're getting steady work. Hannah and Joe on Game of Thrones, Kathryn starred on Finding Carter on MTV, Dev was a star on Newsroom and has a solid TV/movie career...

That's all I can think of.
