I loved S1-S4 but watching the trailer for series 5, it looks so stupid. Also heard from fans that the 3rd generation of Skins are crap. I want to go watch series 7 cause my favorite characters are returning.
shareYou can. Series 7 focuses on Effy, Cassie and Cook, and so there are no connections with generation 3 or series 5/6.
However I would advise watching it eventually. Although Series 5 doesn't feel much like skins, and admittedly the writing was a bit all over the place with the generation, there are some great characters and moments, particularly series 6 which feels like Skins is very much back to its roots.
Sure you can, but don't do it, I don't understanf why some people don't like or even hate season 5 and 6, they got some really EPIC moments and characters... season 6 YIIIISSSS, I could even say is better than season 4 which I consider just a huge mess :S
shareYou can but you are missing out. Some of the characters are fantastic. Season 6 is a bit of a mess but it has it's good moments. Season 5 is a bit hit and miss but Mini, Rich and Grace's episodes are really good.

You can, and in my opinion, you won't be missing much if you skip 5 and 6. Both of those series were crap IMO, and just recycled storylines and character types they did better in 1-4. And just when I was beginning to maybe warm up to the cast by the end of 5, they just decided to ruin it right off the bat at the beginning of 6, and yeah...just awful.
I have to warn you, though, series 7 isn't much better. It's depressing as *beep*, and it was pretty clear the writers had just completely run Skins into the ground. It's worth checking out once though because they did follow up on some classic Skins characters, but it had some major issues. 1-3 was the prime of Skins, 4 was okay, and 5-7 are the worst.
After 7 episodes I just dropped G3 and went straight to S7. I'll rewatch 1-4 before I ever even think of finishing 5 and 6.. it was awful
shareYou can, but I wouldn't. I admit, season 5 was the worst season of the whole show, but season 6 is definitely one of the best, a drastic improvement. I personally love generation 3, it's very underrated.
