Was Effy...?

Rewatching season one and I noticed something. I think Effy may have gotten raped? In the episode "Effy", when Tony is looking for her and Josh is taunting him with phonecalls, the first thing he says is "We're riding the virgin highway!" But then when Tony actually arrives and Effy is passed out, Josh tells Tony "It's not like you'll be taking her virginity, right Spence?" implying Spence had sex with Effy when she was passed out.

It does make sense when you consider that Josh and Spence are both pieces of *beep* and they deliberately got her drugged out. I know that was to lure Tony, but seeing as how she was already vulnerable,it's definitely not beneath them. The thing is that it was never mentioned again, so is the show implying she was raped or were Josh and Spence just teasing Tony

I'm rewatching this and now I think you might be right. Having Spencer rape Effy could've been another way for Josh to get back at Tony for screwing things up with Michelle; also since Josh was *beep* crazy, I wouldn't put it past him to do something like that.

That's what I was thinking. But if she was raped, it's kind of weird that Skins would gloss over it like that.

I don't think that they raped Effy. They just said it to scare and anger Tony--and it worked. Pumping her up with drugs was terrible, but they gave her the option of not doing it and they gave her a "pure" drug (that the doctor later said was better). That doesn't lessen the evil of their actions, but it does suggest that they had no real beef with her, even though they used her to get at her brother; so it's unlikely that they would have raped her.

I honestly thought the pure drug situation was less of an intentional choice on their part to protect Effy and more out of convenience since Josh's mom was a doctor and he worked at her hospital. So he had easy access to pure drugs.
