Watched the five episodes. Really good series. However, what the hell happened in the last 5 minutes - who was the killer? Why? Significance of lorry driver? Did they employ new script writers for the finale? Bl00dy hell. What a disappointment - and a shame.
Because Leanne had a go at him and Kyle. The Macedonian wasn't used to 'bolshy British women' as Kyle put it, so he pushed her and she fell down resulting in a fatal injury.
Significance of lorry driver?
If you mean the lorry that pulled up in front of the flower van in the first episode obscuring Leanne from the kids in the car, no significance whatsoever. It's what they call a red herring.
All of this was explained by Kyle to Matt during the confrontation at the sports centre. It fitted perfectly the theory that DCS Barclay came up with after they found the burned out flower lorry.
Personally I thought it was a great ending to the series. I also got a moment of happy satisfaction cos I'd worked out that Matts Army friend had something to do with it.
Dear Buddha, please send me a pony and a plastic rocket.
The injury was not fatal, Leanne regained consciousness later and was still alive when she was put in the water.
Branko (the Macedonian) pushed Leanne over as described, they panicked and took her to the caravan, then they panicked again and Kyle went back to get the kids. Rosie got in the van but Ethan didn't, the dog bit him and he panicked again (notice a pattern here?).
He put Rosie in the caravan with Leanne and drugged her. Leanne woke up at some point and scratched the carpets, so that if she was killed the police could work out where she was, and maybe rescue Rosie and catch Kyle and Branko.
Meanwhile (and probably in a panic), Kyle rang Gary, who he knew from the recruitment centre (and the gym?), who came and helped him dump Leanne's body, possibly not realising Leanne was still alive.
From the way he reacted to Matt mentioning Leanne was pregnant (in the car, waiting for Kyle), I suspect Gary may have had an affair with Leanne and had got her pregnant, and Leanne "disappearing" was most convenient for him (why else would he get involved for a low-life like Kyle Betts and betray his supposed best made Matt?). I don't know why Branko died, if Gary killed him to cover it up, why didn't he kill Kyle too?
Gary killed them to protect his investment in the cigarette scam(So the detective says near the end). It's possible it took him so long to get to Kyle because Kyle has been in custody for several weeks. Notice though that Gary did try to coax Matt into killing him in thelast episode hoping tosave him the trouble..
I am a sucker for wanting to know the ending of a story before it begins. If I am watching a movie that someone else has seen I almost always ask what's going to happen in the end. I guess I'm weird like that. Good thing it came on in the U.S. at a later date. Now I can watch the story unfold even though I know what's going to happen. Cheers!
Nobody but nobody comes to these boards, looks up an ongoing series they're watching, without wanting to find out how it ends or at least get some clue as to how it "all turns out".
I agree with you Godess1. This was clearly a thread where it was going to be told how it ended. If they did not want to know, they should not have come to this board. Anyway, I too am watching it now and I wanted to know the ending, so I read it. I'm glad Matt is not guilty and I'm still looking forward to watching how it plays out.
The very first opening post CLEARLY says " who did it" "who's the killer?"...why would you read beyond that at all if you didnt want to know?? And furthermore why on Earth would you blame the next person for any choices YOU make (lets face it, no one MADE you read the thread)?? I am SO sick of people blaming everyone else for THEIR own *beep* up already. Kick yourself in the ass for reading the thread and move on.
Anywho...I have to admit, I kinda thought it WAS Matt. Well, not at first but after a while I was starting to think that.
In another thread for this series, I saw somebody threatening users who post spoilers with banning. If they had bothered to use the reporting system, this is what you get if you try and report a Spoiler post (presumably so that person can be banned):
>>>Spoiler - An abuse report is not necessary for this reason Discussions on our boards are likely to contain plot spoilers and this is therefore not normally reason enough to report abuse. However, if the post relates to a recent title and the intention of the post is to deliberately ruin the viewer's enjoyment, please go back and choose the "none of the above" option on the abuse menu instead.<<<
I don't think any of the spoilers posted here were inteded to ruin somebody's enjoyement of the film, rather they were answering questions. When US cable companies buy already aired series for US showings - they expect this and so should the viewers.
Suck up and pay the bill like the rest of us and stop whining about spoilers on the internet. If you don't want to know - don't read threads with titles that ask how a film or show ended or threads where the 1st post asks the same questions.
And you don't have to pay me for that sage advice either. I'm running a special on advice to silly gits today - all free until midnight Eastern Standard Time!
It's common courtesy. But I suppose you don't know anything about that. It's not true that "nobody but nobody" comes to these boards to spoil themselves. Can you speak for everyone? No. I was simply curious to find out more about the series. A simple spoiler tag at the beginning can warn someone to look away quickly. Get some decency. You're really rude. Nice mouth on you, too. Sniff sniffy sniff.
Shelkara - As the original poster my intention was not to spoil the film for you. That said - it had aired on UK tv and I was not to know that it was due for airing outside of the UK.
Just by reading my original question - you should have had the common sense to tune out of the thread.
