DVD Realease

Does anyone know when the expected date is for a DVD realease? Or is it already available?

Since it has only had a limited Cinematic realease will it be available straight away?

Any news on this would be awesome so im over seas and no way of watching it in the Cinemas.

Thanks :)

Hi .

I will check with my firend who was in the film. It has just come out in New Zealand . I have looked around for the DVD but there are none on the shelves as of yet. I,ll let u know more information if I can get it

reply

Hey, yeah that would be good for me too, because i worked on the film but at the moment it isn't being released in Australia :( but my mum (who did Continuity) reckons that once it goes well over in NZ they'll bring it out over here...I hope so, it would be good. Although i went to the Cast and Crew Screening in Wellington, so I've seen it...

reply

I seriously doubt it will available on DVD this side of 2007. Its usually four to five months after a cinema release. As its a local NZ film there will be issues about the initial quantity being manufactured. I cannot begin to guess when an NTSC version will be released. If a U.S. distributor picks up the rights they will probably do the manufacturing themselves converting from a PAL master.

reply

i just hope it has special features. commentary, behind the scenes, maybe even a docco about aramoana...?

reply

It will be released over other countries eventually. Most movies that are on at the Toronto film festival usually do.

i feel sorry for you that u live in a small hick town, but this movie has been released on Oct 12th 2006 elsewhere in NZ

reply

Don't be rude. Film prints are very expensive to make, so there are only a limited number in the country. Smaller areas get the prints when larger ones have finished using them.

I live in the US and can't wait to see this on shelves 'round here.

Just read On Film (New Zealand film industry magazine) because of funding it will be shown on TV in New Zealand just before the DVD release, maybe Febuary/March

wow that is really weird, they are definitley going to lose a lot of money, people will just record it on their DVD recorders and not bother buying a copy. only dvd collector people will buy it for the special features (if there are any).

I read on Rotten Tomatoes that it will be released theatrically in October. Sounds like we won't see the DVD till next year in the US.
