nobody's posted on this yet? this is big news to me! Jerry Lewis acting again, even if it is just his voice! i was disappointed to see he had dropped out of Horrorween (2007), since he hasn't appeared in a film since 2004's Miss CastAway. and another thing, any word yet on what character he will be voicing?
`I hope this isn't based off Eddie Murphy's version...
Well murphy's character was Klump, the 67' version (A Lewis classic) was Kelp...How much sense does it make for the original actor to have a sequel (or whhatever) to the remake rather than his movie?
I just watched the episode of "Law and Order, Special Victims Unit" in which he played the mentally disturbed uncle of Detective Munch. He was fantastic in this dramatic role. Initially he was found, suffering from dementia, homeless on the streets of New York and suspected in the rape/murder they were investigating. Then Munch recognizes him as his uncle and gets him the medical help he needs and he behaves much more normally. He winds up murdering the real perpetrator of the crime he had been suspected of. His portrayal, through all of this, was completely believable and gripping. He is a brilliant comedian but he is a heck of a dramatic actor too.
Jerry will be playing his character from the 1963 film. The main character is his grandson. No it's not based on the inferior Eddie Murphy films, to answer someone else's question.
