Sounds like it will only be a cartoon. Since Jerry is credited with only the voice.

reply

It's for real and it will be a 3D animation.

sorry, im confused... are they remaking the original or turning the original into a cartoon?

reply

It’s a sequel to the original Nutty Professor that stared Jerry Lewis.

Neither. It's a cartoon about the original Nutty Professor's grandson who finds the ingredient for his elixir.

I guess.

I just wish it was live action. . . they could still use Jerry Lewis as the grandfather. . . he just wouldn't have to have a huge role. It could be like a passing on of the Nutty Professorship.

Congratulations, Mr. Simms. You are the fattest boy in camp.

I saw this at Wal-mart today, I wasn't aware of it's status. I wondered why it was simply NUTTY PROFESSOR, as it's supposed to be a sequel to the 60's version.

Yes it is, and I'm watching it right now via Netflix. Not bad at all, following in the footsteps of Jerry's original - with some twists thrown in from Eddie Murphy's version - like the kid's alter ego trying to take over.

Somebody below bemoaned CGI taking over from 2D, but one of the nice things about the movie are several 2D dream sequences, very stylized & different looking from from the CG animation.
