I thought this was overrated
Seriously, I HATED this movie. I could not sit through it.

it's directed at a very particular audience. i just watched it with the whole family and from the youngest to the oldest everyone *LOVED* it!
don't feel bad that you aren't they type of viewer it was intended for
different strokes for different folks.
It was crazy but in the end it was funny and it had a message.
Lord nows what you like bensullivan-1, because this was original, and hilarious. I laughed through the whole thing.
shareYeah, my mother and I saw it and we laughed ourselves sick, especially when Madea was in jail and waiting to get out she got into a fight with Chico, and when she was playing 'tear dat ass up' with Tony, and when Ella did a perfect split and Leo gave her a 10, and after Madea tried to tell Toni about God, she said to the chaplain "I think I just sent this child half-way to hell, maybe you can catch her". And it had good messages about it doesn't matter where you come from you can still do anything no matter who your parents are, and that God's always listening if you ever need to talk to Him and He'll help you...also about what Madea said about foster kids that they're not bad kids, they just need some love and some discipline and you gotta be careful when you're taking care of them.
shareI loved this play/movie for the scene where Medea gives Sonny advice on getting over Vanessa.
There is so much wisdom in what she says, but these days, good old fashioned wisdom is dismissed as cliche and therefore irrelevant and embarassing. Which is really sad.
I know some people who really need to hear that stuff, myself included.
Just out of curiosity Ben Sullivan, why did you hate it so much?
