Possible "The Office" reference

I've just started watching the beloved TV show, starring Steve Carell, and it seemed to me the way Derek's buddy, Randy (portrayed by Rob "Big Schmidt" Riggle), makes the "PAH" sound, when trying to indimidate Brennan, is addressing to the way main character Michael Scott sometimes calls secretary Pam up. Anyone else spotted that (it's a suggestion, I'm not sure it's the case).
