Needs sub-titles
I spent most of this movie with my DVD cranked up to absolute maximum just to hear the dialogue, or, more accurately, the mumbling. It was made worse when the score interrupted it all with a tremendous cacophony of music or sound effects. So I spent a lot of time cranking up the volume in an effort to hear the dialogue, and then frantically turning it down to escape the thunderous noise of the music and sound effects. One of the characters is learning English, and mumbles when she isn't speaking Arabic; the farmer is a reclusive, inarticulate man and he too mumbles. A whole lot of mumbling going on.
A lot of English-speaking films these days are offering English sub-titles on DVDs. This is one movie that most certainly should have been one of them. I was so irritated by it all that I couldn't really concentrate on what was going on. One big disappointment for me. I hope it all worked better in a theatre.
