Spot the Recycled Gilmore Girls Jokes

Hiding unwanted gifts, displaying them only when gift-giver is visiting.

And, not really jokes, but along the same lines:

The line, "They're good rules," discussing guidelines Sarah made up
The surly diner operator (who may or may not show up again)
The dynamic between Sarah and Scott Cohen's character

ASP tends to repeat herself. It happened a few times in Gilmore Girls' run, and it bothered me. Didn't really bother anyone else, but whatever. I want to give her new show a chance. It doesn't help when she's constantly reminding me of her previous effort (and of how much better that previous effort was than her current program).

Honestly I tuned in because I thought it would be smart and witty like the GG, but I shut it off halfway thru the first episode when Parkey Posey's character didn't know what "conceive" meant and was acting like an idiot. I deleted the second episode from my DVR and deleted my series recording so I won't have to sit thru a show like that again. Man did it stink!

Yep, lots of recycled Gilmore here in this new thing, many more even than the ones you mentioned. And the repetition didn't bother me in GG because it's what people do in life, we repeat ourselves all the time AND we're not nearly as entertaining as Lauren Graham! But rehashing jokes from the old show into the new one. Nope, sorry Amy SP, doesn't work.

"To me you are the teacher in a Charlie Brown cartoon"

yeah and the parker posey character was like lorelei's stupid siser you know? I mean she had the same kind of hair, dressed similar, had the fast talking thing, etc, but was an IDIOT! this show made me frusturated. and then the red head chick is obnoxioous too, the wy she scrunches her nose up and yells at everything. GILMORE GIRLS WAS X100000000000000000000 BETTER

Parker Posey doesn't seem to know quite how to read these lines.

I'm only on the second ep on Hulu but Its making me giggle quite a bit...I guess i'm just not digging as deep into it...plus i'm not comparing it to something its clearly not. gilmore girls was an amazing show...but why does this show have to be like it? Its not the same show its not even a spin off...its a compleatly different show that didn't get its chance because of people like you guys.

I think you're missing what all these people are saying... they aren't saying it SHOULD be like Gilmore Girls, they are saying it IS like Gilmore Girls, which is why it is such a turn-off. I think everyone here wants it to be its own entity, but it is far too reminiscent of Gilmore Girls in nearly every aspects, which is why they don't like it.
