Anyone else disgusted by Shelly the dog faced woman?

The moment I saw her I knew Ted was headed for a real fall. 100,000 bucks down the drain was the least of his problems. If you listen close during her classy "Ain't keeping me down bitch" speech at the bar you can hear someone behind her making dog barking noises which is quickly followed by hysterical laughter. I watched this documentory at least 10 times before I noticed it. Next time you see it, listen for it and see if it makes you laugh as hard as it did me.

You know for someone that ugly, you'd think she'd be a sweet person on the inside but she wasn't. She was just as ugly inside as outside. Ted bought her a truck and did she say "Thank you"? No what'd she do? Hop all over his ass about it. Did you see those disgusted faces she made at him? "He refuses to take any money for it and he refuses to take the damn truck back!" she says in a condesending tone all the while clutching the keys. Wanna bet after the cameras quit rolling any offers of payment or giving it back dried up and vanished?

When Ted wound up being homeless again, I wonder what happened to her? Why didn't she give him a place to stay? She had that trailer there where she lived. Someone like her probably already had someone else living there when she realized his money was running out. What a bitch. An ugly dog faced bitch.

She was calling him out in a lie when he said that he bought the car for himself and she needed it so he gave it to her. She probably wanted the car but maybe she did actually refuse the offer at first.

Of course I've only seen this documentary once so maybe you're right on.

reply

Even if that's true, it's only a small part of everything else. Why would he have given it to her if she didn't need it or told him she needed it? Who shows up at someone's house out of the blue with a vehicle they don't need or want?

reply

obviously she wasn't a paragon of class and virtue, however, ted himself claimed to "know the game" etc, and it wouldn't suprise me a bit if he did exactly that.

he gave his "friend" the car when he turned 18 and yet you don't even mention that critically, why is that?

i think ted was surrounded by people who he allowed himself to be surrounded by. he was a stubborn man with no sense of who had his best interest at heart. if he listened to his sisters he'd have at least 1/2 that money saved up, one of two jobs, and a place to stay.

i'm less disgusted by shelly than i am by the way ted blew his opportunity to get his life on the track he claimed he wanted it on (a warm and safe place to sleep and a place to take 1 or more showers).

I have to agree with whoever said Shelly was a dogfaced skank. At least the 18 year old kid was grateful.

And yes, this film made me angry that Ted was irresponsible and blew his second chance to rebuild his life...no disagreement there but Shelly reeked of an "entitled to" attitude. That along with her dogface, sorry, she woops Ted's ass. Ted was just ignorant and stubborn but he tried to help his friends even though it was a stupid thing to do considering his circumstances...it shows where his heart is.

I thought Ted was a sad person. I think this documentary stirs up such emotion because we see ourselves as the ones given $100,000 and know that we would never blow that opportunity so frivolously.

reply

The HUGE difference between the kid and the dogface is that the kid was his friend before Ted got the money.
Dogface wouldn't have given Ted a pot to piss in when he was homeless.

I am not at all sad for Ted. I am more ashamed than anything else. I was homeless when I was 18. Luckily I made friends with someone who offered me a place to stay, in low income housing by the way. I did dabble in drugs and drinking. However, those things get old. I found a job a couple weeks later making about 150 a week. I got my GED went in the military, got married, managed a Waffle House, and am working on my BA in business management. So trust me if someone doesn't want to be homeless they don't have to be. If you want to be sad, be sad for someone who is disabled and has no way to work. And if you want to be mad at something be mad at yourself for not having a 100k in the bank. I am a big fan of the saying a penny saved is a penny earned.

That's awesome that you got your life straightened out.

reply

I commend you for your honesty. It takes a lot of guts to admit that.

You're all forgetting one thing. Ted had nothing and was given everything for no reason. He probably felt that he should help others in the same way that he was helped.
