I had some problems with the fans...

So, yeah, I love Firefly and Serenity. Two great pieces of science-fiction that will absolutely stand the test of time. But, some of these fans were a bit weird to me. No, not because they love it so much, that's absolutely normal. But, those girls who went into the store and messed with the DVDs and put stickers everywhere bugged me. The clerks working at those stores have enough crap to deal with, the last thing they need is people hassling them about a TV show. It seems that had no regard for that at all.

Also, Orson Scott Card? Really? Look, the dude is free to love the show and movie, but in a documentary that advocates Equality Now? Seriously? The irony is strong with this one.

"That's the karma again, I didn't help Kenny so she beat me up with a telephone"

This was made in 2006, long before Card's personal views hit the mainstream. I read all the Ender books in the 80s and 90s and I never knew his views about homosexuality and gay marriage in particular until last year, in the run up leading to Ender's Game, the movie, when groups were calling for a boycott.

Yeah I am with you. It's pretty poorly made. Technically low quality, (bad sound, bad green screen) narratively all over the place. Plus I'm sure they couldn't get the rights, but to have a dic about a TV show/film and not have any actual clips is really just missing a huge element. I guess I expected this to be a doc more about the issues with Fix and the development if the movie. Ah well.
