The Wii version looks TERRIBLE!!!

I'm SO glad I didn't waste money on buying a Wii. The game looks crap!

lmao same, its just like a game cube with some fancy sensors and can play dvds.

reply

It doesn't compare to 360 or PS3. The graphics and overall dynamics of the console SUCK!

It's just some crappy gimic.

Meh. The PS3 and XBox360 are way overpriced. And at least the Wii plays all Gamecube games. AS for this game, when else are you going to get the chance to throw out your hands to webswing?

Signature must be less than 100 characters long.

so next gen only means pretty graphics?

reply

Technically, next gen means more power and the only new power the wii actualy has is the mtion sensor and the whole wii online shop thing. Its is basically a GC like soeone else said with some modifications. Its not really next gen to me. The wii never appealed to me as much as the 360 and the ps3. The wii is a fad and will go down eventually just like the gamecube,.

I feel sorry for anyone who bought a Wii. For games like SM3 which come out for all consoles, the 360 and PS3 versions are always going to be streets ahead of the Wii

reply

At least Wii owners get to pretend to be Spider-Man.

Don't feel sorry for Wii owners, ENVY them, because they get Super Smash Bros. Brawl, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Super Mario Galaxy.
I don't own a Wii, I have a 360, but I'm going to try to get one.

yeah but those games are for 10 year olds. I'm 19, I play games like GTA and Pro Evo lol

are u all retarded? nintendo has gone in a totally different direction than microsoft and sony and as a result sales of the wii have nearly tripled the ps3. ive had a wii for 3 months and its so far been my best investment this year. u all talk about the motion control like its nothing when in fact its a revolution in gaming thats gained soo much success in the little time its been out, that and the fact that its half the price of a ps3 its way so much more worth it

reply

You're full of it, Wii sales have NOT tripled PS3 sales. No where near.

Yeah, but the Wii is still better. We all know that Sony copied the Wii's motion sensing controls. That's why there's no rumble feature and the developers had no idea about it until Nintendo revealed their motion sensing controller. Most games had to be redone on the PS3 because of this. And the Wii still has a rumble feature.

According to Wikipedia:

Wii Sales = 6.60 million+
PS3 Sales = 3.25 million+
360 Sales = 12 million units

Ok so keep a few things in mind.

360's been out for over a year now.
PS3 + 360's cost about 50% more.

So it wasn't Triple, it was Double the sales of the PS3, but still the difference is there. However since the PS3 is double the price then you'll probably agree that there is going to be a difference. They are also doing different marketing strategies. The Wii said they aren't trying to compete with the new consoles and PS3 is planning their system for long term use. The 360, well, we know what Microsofts plan is.

Ok so as far as the wii version for Spider-Man 3?

I'd gladly unshine my graphics for a shot at something new. They still look great, albeit not achieving the same lengths of polish that the hardware on other systems can produce.

But if you play a game for the graphics, you're gonna get bored of it real fast. Why? Because they'll always be something shinier tomorrow.

Have you guys played the wii extensively? I mean there isn't much difference between playing a PS3 and playing a PS2 (or 1 for that matter), but the Wii definitely allows yourself to immerse yourself into your game. Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess wasn't that different than Ocarina of time, except that you could aim and swing your sword with the wii mote. Did that change the experience?

OH HELL YES IT DID. I'd never gritted my teeth so hard at times, it really made the whole thing feel better, more alive!

So I'm more excited for Spider-man 3 on the wii than any other game. Rehashing Ocarina of time and slapping the wii motes on it, totally changed my outlook on gaming.

Oh and don't make an argument that Super Smash Bros. Melee isn't an "adult" game, that games way more complicated than GTA, I've been studying it for a year to get better at it and I've never seen such complicated systems laden into a game. GTA is nice, but it isn't complicated or dynamic, it's just a fun game where you get drive and shoot people. Smash Bros is for hardcore gamers.

Besides most importantly, you can't judge a book by its cover. You don't know how it's going to play, and that's what they spent their time doing. They revamped the entire control scheme for it, and they spent tons of time tweaking it.

Either way though, I think the PS3 version and the Wii version will be great. PS3 will be shinier, the wii version will immerse you. Both are admirable, so lets not bicker.

reply

Well, according to IGN + Gamespot.

All of them suck. Greeeeaaaaat.

They probably are pissed because they didn't add anything new to any version really, and all of them had issues.

No, they haven't tripled, but Nintendo is the only one making money on the nexgen consoles. I think that technically the PS3 is the better system, but it's losing money because the blue ray is so expensive. Plus, Wii has some pretty sweet games for it.

I own a Wii. I've beaten the Spiderman 3 video game.
First of all, a warning for Wii owners-
Spiderman 3 (Wii) can NOT compare to the Spiderman 2 video game!!!

That being said, there are some good things about the Wii. Wii Sports, for example- you actually swing a remote to play baseball! Then, you jab your remote to box, and put the remote to hit a golfball. See? Not ALL games for the Wii are bad- well, that's an opinion, and you're entitled to your own, so... but in my opinion, not ALL games for the Wii are bad; but some games, like Spiderman 3 and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer are adequate efforts, although now we are in the 7th generation of video games and adequate doesn't seem like quite good enough.

I have the game on Wii. I am stuck at monster lizard. I got him into 2 electric generators. I am having trouble with getting him into the 3rd taking health away.

I got a Wii in February was pumped since then to get Spidey. But aside from the webslinging part of, this game sucks for Wii. The graphics suck, the game stalls every time you finish an objective, and the dialogue is retarded (I'm sure thats true for all consoles though).

One of my coolest parts of SM2 os PS2 was going to the top the Empire State Building and checking out the city. On the Wii all you see is grey blocks everywhere you look.

I somewhat disagree.

On the 360/Pc/Ps3 versions, when you go to the top of the Empire State, the first few blocks of buildings are kinda clear but everything beyond that looks...well....gray and hazy.

I've rented the Ps2 version before and the first thing I did was go to the top of the Empire State. I agree, it is quite saddening at the graphics. The city seems....different. It is lonelier and much more alienated. And you see nothing but like a user just stated- gray blocks.

Spider-Man 2 may be shunned nowadays as an "old" game, but I still feel it is a classic that can't be beaten no matter how many new spidey games created. And the view from THAT Empire State is breathtaking. Sure it is blocks you see but they aren't ALL gray. And there is lights from the street.
