Patchwork film?

So I live in Detroit and it seems like this movie started like 10 years ago and still isn't finished. It seems like every year or so I see a local call for talent needed for additional scenes, extras, etc. There was another call a few months back. I hope the local chatter is wrong, but the vibe I am getting is that they keep adding/ cutting/ re-writing to salvage any hopes they have to create a decent product.

I love Detroit and support our local artists. Many friends of mine have worked a day or two on set, so I hope for their sake that this project turns out to be really good. Get it done!

Salty, I think you're mistaken. I think you are referring to a short film by the same title that was shot as a "proof of concept" reel a while ago... indeed made to help sponsor the feature film version which has now come to fruition. Before
"Daredevil" was made into a movie starring Ben Affleck, the director shot a "proof of concept reel". As for re-writes, it's called filmmaking buddy, Lord of the Rings was "re-written" almost on a daily basis in order to achieve the current film. A lot of movies do this in Hollywood. Please watch a documentary on making a film and you'll understand. As for local chatter? That sounds silly, if the summary of what a few extras and PA's said on set about every set (from Red Dawn to Gran Torino) held water, I'd be laughing myself to bits. I am glad for the Michigan Film Incentive, I am glad for all locals on these movies and I am glad people have made a move to make films in Michigan. I can't wait to see Jana Kramer in "Heart of the Country" and I cannot wait to see her in "Approaching Midnight" I invite all artists both local and abroad to come to the great lakes state!

I very well might be mistaken, I admit that I am not perfect. However AKrishnaDave, you posted on 12/24/2004 on Brandon T. Jacksons page that he was cast in the film. Again, that was 2004...and this is now 2013...

Sure, I am well aware that rewrites need to happen. 8 or 9 years worth?

As for the local chatter, it did not come from extras and PA's. It came from credited cast members, one of which was a recent addition through another local casting call.

Look, maybe you misunderstood the original post. I want Detroit to succeed, and this is the type of project that could really put us (back) on the map. I just want to see it! The cast and crew are all talented people and I hope this film turns out, that's all. I'm rooting for it!

I believe you are correct, I was filming The Ugly One-Thors Revenge in
Detroit at the same time this was filming around 2003-2004, I had already heard about this film
