It was slightly strange and fitting however

Paul Reubens should "age" Pee-Wee Herman out of his suit, experiences, etc... as it he can't possibly continue to do the character justice (or well) as a 65 y.o. boy. Perhaps do an eccentric grandpa Pee-Wee in a sweater, gray hair, slightly adult jokes.

Pee-wee was always a man child though. I guess that he could become a man-teen or something.

Exactly, Pee-wee has aged physically and his child-like antics, look, voice, and mannerisms don't come off the same. I'd rather watch an eccentric old "teen" uncle than a shuffling, croaky man-child.
