In all his movies, he seems to develop a man-crush on certain males... while at the same time expressing disgust whenever a woman shows interest in him.

He could be. In all likelihood, Paul Reubens is bisexual. I think Pee-wee might be too, because he does show interest in Dottie by the end of Big Adventure, and is engaged in Big Top.
