Jon Hamm would have been better.

Should have gotten Jon Hamm to do this movie. He's done comedy on SNL, and I feel like he's more well know for Mad Men than Joe is for True Blood.

Agree. I'd never heard of this Joe guy.

reply

If you haven't heard of someone, it's most likely because you haven't watched the things they're primarily famous for and not because they're not famous. I mean, isn't True Blood a popular show?

reply

Same here, I had no clue who that guy was, never seen him before. I immediately thought Jon Hamm would have been a better choice.

reply

IDK how he got the part either BUT he was in SPIDER-MAN 1 + 3 & THOSE were cash cows for all ages so there's that to consider.

I fell asleep during INCEPTION BUT I FEEL like I still saw it!

I read the original script and Dwayne Johnson was the one they wanted for the part. Guess they went with the best they could afford.

reply

Joe was perfect. Jon Hamm can't really do comedy correctly. His appearances on SNL were awkward and painful to watch. His character on 30 Rock was awful and he ruined any ability to enjoy that other show Kimmy Schmidt. I love that he is willing to laugh at himself but willing doesn't mean talented.

BVS:DOJ would probably have presented a scheduling conflict BUT what WOULD have been 'Meta-Hilarious' is if Pee-Wee's new friend had been Laurence Fishburne!

You have to figure they settled on who would do the part. I don't think actors were lining up to be in a PeeWee movie. Nothing against it btw.

reply

Pee-wee would have been too distracted.

reply

Juan Ham? Muy genioso.

reply

Donny Osmond would have been a fun choice as well.

reply

Paul Reubens and Joe Manganiello are good friends in real life. So I'm pretty sure Joe Manganiello had the part before the movie was even written.
