Doesn't even sound like Pee Wee...

Anyone else notice that Reubens sounds different?

reply

I couldn't believe how it sounded just like him and look just like him I don't even know if Paul is playing everybody looks just like him sounds just like them to me Siri wrote this for me and Siri doesn't seem to believe in periods or commas

reply

Sorry Siri sucks. But you know what I meant. Can't edit in this app. No edit but.

reply

It's probably harder for him to do the signature Pee-Wee voice at 63.

reply

So does Roger Daltrey. Everyone's voice changes as they age.

reply

Roger Daltrey sounds horrible. I don't say that to troll or be mean, I'm a huge Who fan. I give him props for trying to adjust his singing style to compensate, but it just isn't working. I really think Pete should give up The Who, and just tour as an acoustic solo act. I always preferred Pete's demos over the final Who's product anyway.

reply

Are you trying to make him commit suicide? Because it's people like you who make old artists commit suicide.

reply

I don't see that happening to him. He stayed clean all these years being a rock star, while most other people in the industry fought substance abuse there whole lives. He's a pretty stable personality.
I think Pete is more of a candidate than Roger.

reply

Daltrey's singing was always the weakest link in that band. With Pete's ego a close second. Moon and Entwistle for the win.

reply

Lemme guess. You're a Zeppelin fan. Roger had the best voice for what he was singing. A very powerful voice. He could duplicate in concert what he recorded in studio. Something Robert Plant couldn't do ccnsistantly. Daltrey was certainly no Freddy Mercury, but he was definitely no weak link.

reply

Yes you are right, I am a Zep fan, and I will grant you that Zep was inconsistent -- even bad -- live. I guess I just never liked Daltrey's voice, even at its best.

reply

the weakest link????

oh boy, hes only one of the best singers ever in the history of rock n roll.

reply

He definitely does not sound or look exactly as he once did. Different mannerisms too. It's too bad. I preferred the Pee-Wee in Big Adventure and Big Top Pee-Wee.

It's still Paul Reubens. I just didn't get nearly as many laughs as in the other movies. But he says he did this movie for kids, so that might explain why he has allowed the Pee-Wee character to change so much.

reply

Yep. We still watch Pee Wee's Playhouse regularly so when we first heard his voice it was very distracting. Movie is still entertaining enough but it's hard to get past that.
