is this the worse marvel cartoon yet?

i think so do you

reply

The Avengers cartoon that Saban made a while back is much worst than this Iron Man cartoon.

reply

Agreed. "Avengers: United They Stand" is the worst piece of Marvel animation yet.

reply

No.

reply

No, the series is actually pretty good, especially compared to Avengers and season 1 of Iron Man and Fantastic Four from the mid-90's.
Plus the show can't be too bad as it broke ratings records for nicktoons.

Iron Man 10/10, TDK 8/10

I said this in another post, but doesn't the animation remind anyone of SKYLAND? It's that style where they film live actors but turn it into animation.

reply

I think it is. The 90s cartoon is way better and thats a piece of crap too. They completely KILLED everything about the character. And Im not some niy-picky fanboy, but this is f-cking ridiculous.

reply

It's, at the very least, the worst cartoon of THIS GENERATION. You know stacked up against Batman BatB, Spectacular Spiderman, Wolverine and the X-Men, etc.

I agree, the Animation looks incredibly off. Like if this were from the mid-to-late 90s it would have looked good, but now, it just looks "meh"

I can admire the writers for trying something new, but I just don't think Teen Iron Man works. And W.T.F at making Mandarin a guy in a special suit of armor? Didn't Stan Lee say Mandarin was supposed to be the anti-thesis of Iron Man. You know Iron Man representing modern technology and science, and Mandarin being based off the more traditional ancient arts of Magic and Martial Arts. That really bugs me. Of course they haven't as far as I see, haven't actually SAID Mandarin's armor is magic or High-tech, I mean for all I know it could be something like Karas (which just reminds me of the Marvel/Tatsunoko teamup series we're supposed to get in 2012) but he certainly seems to share Tony's wealthy upbringing with modern conveniences like Limos and Cell-phones.

reply

The 90's Iron man cartoon was horrible. Don't let your youth affect your taste. The 90's Iron man was probable among the worst 3 marvel cartoons ever made. Right after that Spider man cartoon where he goes into the future.

reply

Ya i was thinking the exact same thing while watching this show. It looks very similar to skyland.

ah fockin ate pikeys

The absolute worst Marvel series was the 70's New Fantastic Four, the one without the Torch. Then I'd say that Spider-Woman, the Hanna Barbera Thing cartoon and the Avengers would be up there too. This show might not be perfect but it's still a lot better than any of those.

We've still come a long from the slightly animated comic panels of the 60's (though it looks like they're going back to that for the Black Panther mini-series).

Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit

This show is pretty good. I'm shocked at the negative feedback. The animation isn't that bad. The plots are actually very well conceived with great characterization. It starts off slow but really gets intense towards the later episodes.

By no means is it at the level of the awesome Spectacular Spider-man. But it stands alone as a very rewarding half hour of television.

just watched the first episode....this adaptation suck balls..

they must think that people waching it are absolute retards...

Well, people can always look at it as a different version of the character/different universe. Can't expect everything to be the same when it comes to adaptations. Makes things easier to just like/dislike the show on its own merits rather than comparing it to something else.

Sorry NO I dont; I like it alot ; hopefully the 6 episodes I missed 2 weeks ago on a sat afternoion-nite will be on NickToons shortly then i will have them all on vhs !!

reply

I'm surprised so many people hate this show. Sure, he's a teenager, but just think of it as a "What If" series. I don't think there's been a Marvel/DC comics based tv show I didn't like yet, though I'm not really into reading the comics that much so I might not have that much of a place to judge from. The show's writing kinda reminds me of the latest Fantastic Four show.

reply

Since when does changing ages make it bad? Xmen evolution wasn't the greatest series, but it wasn't terrible, and everyone was a teenage(minus the teachers)

So wait, I've never exactly, watched this show, though when I was younger I was an avid viewer of all the original animated series shows like Spider-man TAS, Spider-man Unlimited (Ouch, i know, but I watched it, all 13 episodes of it..), Batman TAS, Batman Beyond, X-men TAS etc.

But now that I see series like this I'm just saddened to know that kids today won't have the opportunity to experience a real Marvel/DC animated series like many of us did when we were young. Now they have to try to understand these alternate universes spin-off's of the hollywood movies they just saw in theaters last summer.

reply

'X-Men: Evolutions' was a terrible cartoon that made a mess of the fandom. This is even worse- why is it even called 'Iron Man' when Tony is barely old enough to cross the road by himself without supervision?

were their worse marvel cartoon yet

It's not replaced. A second season is coming.

reply

nope, you have never seen x-men evolution apparently.

This show is based on the recent iron-man comic book that depicts tony stark as a kid. This show is bring back marvel to it roots. All shows Marvel did after Hulk and before this were horrible. Go watch those horrible shows cow, and pay attention.

reply

I didn't (and still don't) like the premise but the show is pretty good.

reply

Nope. I'm on episode 25, season 1, with no regrets. It's got enough action, doesn't have any filler episodes with enough baddies to make it worthwhile.

All in all it's quite good.

reply

I think that honour goes to "Ultimate Spider-Man".

reply

Spider-man Unlimited, The Avengers: United they Stand, and MTV Spiderman, in my opinion, deserve the title for worst adaptation. Pryde of the X-men is a close second, notably for the Australian Wolverine.

Spectacular Spider-man, I have to say, I really loved. But then the second season was really poor. It made Peter into a jerk, alot of the growth was ignored from the previous season. Alot of the fun was no longer there.
Damn shame. I know alot of people did not like the show based on how the characters looked, but once they saw past that, there was a darn good series lurking underneath. I personally loved the style of the series.

The incredible Hulk and She-Hulk was another show I was none too fond of.
