I just watched the 'series premiere' and I really wish I hadn't. WTF does this even relate to the books with? The jokes came out of a retarded 3 year old, and the voice acting is painful.
They absolutely destroyed the books, and I have half a mind to shoot whoever made this POS show.
The books were great, this dumb show ruins it. Now people probably won't even read the books because the show ruined them.

I first saw Wayside in NIck's listigns on the peview channel and immediatly flipped the channel thinking "Whoa, they finally made a tv series after all this time!" I immediatly switched over and found it to be animated when I expected live-action. I decided to be acceptant of it at first, but then I saw that the designs, character portrayals, and plotlines reminded me nothing of the book series I grew up with. The plotlines seem to center on just a few of the students rather than the class as a whole. The characters and the school itself look next to nothing like the illustrations. Plus I have yet to see Ms. Gort who was a recurring atagonist in the book series. I been wanting a Wayside School series for some time, but this sisn't really the direction I had in mind.

sharei dont mind that it's a cartoon...they could have made it work if the animation was any good. this was lacking though and extremely attention deficit inducing for the bit i watched...the humor in the original stories was in the fact that all the wierdness happened in a matter of fact sort of way...here they just hit you over the head with it so it's not really funny
