people when you grab them and he kicks them in the back... i was always confused about this

He knees the guy in the spine, it must be some way of causing a major spinal injury so the victim can no longer breath on their own. It's a good way to kill someone without leaving a trace of blood behind. Maybe they just did it that way in the game because it looks cool. Also like the other poster said, if you sneak from behind and do the lethal attack without grabbing the victim first he stabs in the sweet spot. I think this was a topic before, a long time ago.
Sam grabs hold of their throat, brings them down and stabs them in what looks like their mid-back area.
