Hello, I have been reading all about this film, watching the trailers etc...
Love Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut...its in my top 10 favorites.
Does anyone know when the US release for Arn will happen? Or are they going to wait until the second film comes out and then release them both over in the States?
I want to see this movie badly.

I have read that thread obviously, but as it is centered around the UK release, I thought someone (not necessarily you) might have information about the US release that is new. That is all.

Sweet. I will probably end up buying both films when available, even if the combined version comes to the US, as there will undoubtably be heavy cuts to the film.
US film studio execs are not the smartest bunch...they routinely make a director cut his film to make it more "marketable" only to watch it die at the bx office.
These films then find new life on DVD in their "real" versions...case in point: Kingdom of Heaven. Theatrical release was decent, but nothing special...but the version the idiotic studios execs made Ridley Scott release.
On DVD he releases a Director's Cut with an hour of footage restored, crucial character development, major subplots...and it is almost universally praised as one the best films that year and of Scott's career.
End of my rant...but the point is I hope the international version is not too edited down to appeal to "wide" audiences and become "more marketable" because that will no doubt ruin characterization and quality of the films.

shareIf youre after anything like kingdom of heaven then run away from ARN man. This is a love story and a love story only. My hopes was for a story preaty much like kingdom of heaven when it cames to the jerusalem scenes but heck no. So if youre into wartime movies save your money and buy something else. And yes I loved the books.
