A waste of time and money

Before I saw it, I read tons of articles about how they had trouble funding it, how different companies dropped and took up the subject and stuff like that. In the end, it's the most expensive movie in swedish history. And the result was THIS???

I didn't even finish watching the movie it sucked so hard! I agree with every word written in the review about it. I can't believe they didn't even bother adjusting the language and the accents!

And it was so obvious that Arn didn't ride the same black horse during the first hour. The original one was all black with a very thick neck, while his "bodydoubles" had rather normal necks and even white markings on their heads. Such details are so unnecesary, it's so easy to fix with shoepolish or something, why, WHY couldn't whey botcher fixing it?

It was a waste of time for EVERYONE involved making this movie, it was a waste of money that could have went to movies that was actually good and I wasted an hour of my life that never returns.

Just because it's the most expensive movie production in swedish history doesn't mean it's high budget. Honestly, I'm impressed with how well it turned out, considering it's scale.

And to counter some of your remarks... Other "epic" movies made with much higher budgets (meaning hollywood) don't bother adjusting the accents. They did adjust the language quite appropriately, though. Which you should be happy about, in my humble opinion, considering almost no production ever does that. (Possibly because they consider the american audience too slow, or, perhaps, because they simply "dont like reading subtitles".)

And, honestly, the type of mistakes like the different horses can be found in all movies. Period.

I'm sorry to say, but I'm afraid you botched your experience of this movie simply by getting your hopes too high in the first place.

there are so many dam movies these days that are totally dumbed down for american viewers, all story removed and just replaced with crap so the americans have a chance of understanding it

that being said this movie still sucks, but i only say that because i downloaded it after never hearing of it, the description saying its in english when in fact most of the movie is not in english and there are no subtitles available so simply, i cant watch it and it was a waste of my time, who knows it could still be a great movie but ill never know

I can't understand what would be so wrong with this movie. I found it very good and entertaining. Of course the story was pretty standard medieval stuff but still well made and exceptional for a Swedish movie which I never watch. And I'm from Finland ;).

Why is it a waste of time and money? Because Arnt doesn't ride the same horse in the film? Maybe because the horse got too old?

And who cares?

You yourself said you didn't watch to the end. I don't understand why people need to whine constantly, instead of appreciating someone's work..or do a better one!

OP, this is a movie of HIGH swedish standar!! Just like "The girl with the dragon tatto". If you can`t respect Skandinavian movie culture, you may go to hell. I won`t miss you.

I just finished watching this movie. I, too, had never heard of it; but, living in the U.S.A., that is not such a big surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, there are similarities between it and "Kingdom of Heaven", but so what? Most movies made today are derivative. Also, about the whole language/accent thing; how about Tony Curtis' Brooklyn accent in both "Taras Bulba" and "Spartacus"? This movie was much better that a lot of the other crap being made.

Now it's 2016 and just finally saw this on Netflix.. All I got say as an American... WELL DONE! loved it!

Well hell, too bad for you. It was meant as a TV miniseries that also had a companion piece that aired with it.

I waited for it anxiously, but missed it in the theater. I bought the series from Norway, and it did not disappoint.

If you're looking at horses and other details, then maybe watching movies isn't for you.
