Does anyone know where the country house was located?

I am not sure how exact an answer you are looking for.

I only assume it must be somewhere in reasonable driving distance from Paris, as the oldest son lives there and came out to that house on a regular basis.

town/village.

I don't think that village's name has ever been spoken in the movie. I watched it last night, and being German (a native neighbour to France), I would have really looked that up if the name would have been mentioned.

Please correct me anyone if I missed that! But I was wide awake and reading along the english subtitles, and I don't believe that name was ever said.

I watched this film today. Valmondois and Butry-sur-Oise are in the credits. A local publication (Val d'Oise Le Mag March 2008, p.26) gives the address of the house on rue de Parmain, Butry-sur-Oise.

France, I know where to check out the town/house.

Valmondois was listed as the village for the house in Helene's obituary in the newspaper.
