I don't get it

What is the point of even holding a competition if the winner is decided by public vote? In that case why not just scratch the whole show and instead just post up every model's photo on a website and have people vote on it and be done with the whole thing?

I mean really. I ask again. If the final result comes down to public vote, then why even bother holding a competition? What purpose does the competition serve if the winner is decided by public vote?

EDIT: It's just so dumb.
-Enter competition.
-Beat all other contestants fair and square through hard work and skill.
-Still lose the competition because the public didn't vote for you.
-Point of competition???

They really need to remove the whole public vote thing. It makes no sense to have a competition if the end result is basically just a popularity contest. This isn't about who is the most likable. It's about who is genuinely the best for the job.
