Will we ever see something like this again?

I liked it a lot upon first viewing and binged watched it. I thought how it progressed and escalated was fascinating but not in the way, say, Criminal Minds is, which (first 7 seasons) were completely fascinating. This was a bird's eye view of what goes on inside therapy sessions.

I just wished they'd given us Season 4.

And I'm with you, we need more shows like this. So many need 'help' that don't reach out for it, so can have 'aha' moments like with Criminal Minds which can be, believe it or not, very helpful.

I just finished the whole show and have to agree, there are not enough shows with these qualities. After two episodes I was hooked and ordered the whole first season, then the others followed. Every patient has something that resonates with me, everyone of them reaches a point where I learn something significant about myself, my own life. I haven't been so impressed by tv writing for a long time.

And I too was reminded of 'The Affair' multiple times, which is not surprising since the creators of 'The affair' were involved in 'In Treatmet'. There's even some strong similarities between Paul's backround and Noah's, both had to care for their sick mother and have a difficult relationship with their father.
