Now that was a cool manuever....((spoiler s))

Granted, its a suicide move, but using the shockwave from the detonating nacelles to propel the saucer forward at high speed, nice. Overall, fun movie, I enjoyed watching it, though I will say that Uhura and.....STONN? I'm just wondering where the hell that concept came from? Nice touch of course tying in TOS characters, but still....STONN?

It came from the facr that the guy who played Stonn was available and willign to shoot and was shoehorned in. but logically he shoudl look about 35-40 not 80, as Vulcans are supposed to age more slowly than Humans.

yeah it was out of Lft feild. I acceptedit in the Alternate Tiemline as in that oen he may have never met T'Pring, amd theres plenty of Time for him to have met and fallen for Uhura, married her, and had a Family.but when Uhura Married Stonn at the end it was just...strange...

Yeah, overall I rolled with it. Listen, when all these people do this for I'd guess free? since its a fanfilm, give them freaking credit, I did get a shiver down my back when I realised the bad guy was Gary Mitchell, since of course at that point you think its Charlie X. Now I need to watch Star Trek New Voyages, and see how good that is. It will be interesting to try to accept ANOTHER set of actors again as Kirk/McCoy/Spock/Uhura/Chekov/Scotty/Sulu, but I'm willing to put it on faith. But first, back to STO!

I wasnt downign it. As a non-cannonical film (Not sure if it wualifies as a fan film givne its unique history) its pretty decent. It was also made for the 40th Anniversary of Star TRek, so padding with alumni and returnign Charaacters ismroe justified than usual. But, that stll doenst mean t all hangs perfeclty togather. This kind of film relies on Nostalgia more than on anythign else to work.

Sadly not very good - I was doing much higher production standards back in high school with the Public Access equipment.

That and the guy who plays Kirk just cannot act, and hams it up terribly. And yes, he's apparently an Elvis impersonator when he's not doing a bad job trying to play Kirk, so "go figger".

reply

The guy who "plays Kirk" was actually playing Kirk's nephew in the film, and I thought he did just fine.

What happened between Stonn and T'Pring? How come he's available to marry Uhura?

reply

T'Pring in this Timelie does not have Stonn...
