Is this movie for real?

I've just seen the trailer, but now I'm having a hard time finding out whether the movie is a prank or genuine!

Could anyone enlighten me?

reply

I was at Nordisk Film yesterday and everyone was in a state of hysterical shock over the trailer. Right now the word is that it's for real. And if it turns out to be a hoax it's a damn thorough one - top marks for that, hehe.

reply

This is so obviously a joke.. A good and hilarious one, but it's a joke.. if it's not... well then I don't know.. lol

reply

This is by far the worst trailer that I've ever seen! Ever! :oD

reply

Even more so - how does it get a rating of 8.1 if it's not out yet? :p

reply

On the behalf of the Danish state and the Danish people, I would like to apologize for this piece of crap. Even though it has been directed by an American.

SORRY FFS!

reply

How about we reserve our judgment until any of us has actually seen this movie? It looks like crap from the trailer, yes, but what can you expect when you let an American direct a movie about Vikings?

Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, and the "ice-capped fjords of Norway" come to mind... ;o)

reply

This is indeed a far out prank; that is, noone can tell for sure. But if you trust your guts you will know (with or without proof) that this is not for real.

reply

This is indeed for real, just saw an interview with 2 of the "stars" in it (the interview was in a danish latenight show called "Den 11. Time" and the two "stars" was Ken Vedsegaard and Alexandre Willaume-Jantzen) They said that it was the biggest peice of amatuer **** they've ever worked on. Half of the people didn't show up for the pre reading, they use 2$ plastic swords and in a battle scene, they weren't enough people to do the charge so they did one side first, then all of the actors changed clothes and charged from the other side.

Also Alexandre Willaume-Jantzen said that he was wearing a wrist watch during some of the shots and the director was like "So?"

reply

I saw "Den 11. Time" and i wouldnt conclude after watching the show that it is real or not. I simply dont trust Mikael Bertelsen :]

reply

Saw the trailer on "Den 11. Time" also and am pretty sure the "movie" (I doubt there is anything other than the trailer) is a prank.

My only doubt is if Bertelsen is in on the gag or not :)

reply

I agree with others. Based on what was on at Bertelsen, I would not conclude that the movie was for real. Half the time, they were both cracking up or even laughing out loud. So, no. I would not call that prof...

What is odd is that the trailer has all but vaniched from the face of the earth. Google, youtube etc...its gone. So maybe it was a big hoax or perhaps they are just trying to fix it or something....

The production company, Supersonic Entertainment, has apparently not produced any other movies.. And if you visit Supersonic Entertainments homepage, you will discover it's a record company. And by the way the production was last updated 31 March.. It's an April fool's joke, but a hillarious one!

reply

It sure is for real.
Properly this movie is gonna be one of those cult-movies.
There is an interview at this site

with one of the actors Alexandre Willaume
(It is a danish show, but really hillarious)

I have a wierd little fact that i think proves what i said earlier... that this movie is/was (maybe they simply destroyed the movie coz it sucked so bad) indeed for real.

Denmarks tallest man was on a program called "Go' Aften Danmark" tonight and told the lovely Michele Bellaiche that he sometimes worked on movies (coz he's.... very tall...) and one of those movies were... (drumroll) A Viking Sage.

I just look'd at cinemaxx.dk under upcomming movies. It says nothing about a movie with that title. So it's not about to come out.

reply

I sure hope this movie is for real :-)

Unfortunately, this is a real movie. I rented it and watched about 1/2 of it before I gave up on it. It is terrible. Horrible writing, horrible acting, horrible lighting, horrible editing, horrible everything! It looks like a bunch of people who have no idea what they are doing got together and said "hey! let's make a move!" I'm tempted to "accidentally" damage the DVD before returning it, just so no one else wastes their time or money on this piece of garbage.

I just got done watching this movie. I wish I could go back in time and not buy it. It was disappointing. To give you an idea: Eric the Viking was a more believable and better entertaining Viking movie. I can only imagine what the trailer looked like. Do not see this movie.
