I was watching a TWLZ Marathon and there was and episode about a group of neighbors hear Russia is attacking (with Missiles) and only one man has a shelter. and the neighbors try to get in. It turns out it was a false alarm. right when the neighbors break in. WHAT A TWIST!!!!!!
That episode has been spoofed alot and was remade in the 80s twilight zone. I really liked that episode though, one of my favs. I'd probably like this movie alot.
Okay, I can't remember if this was the Twilight Zone or what because I was a little kid when I saw it, but was there an episode where two guys go into a shelter after they hear about a nuclear...thing, and then the two guys argue and one wants to get out, but he knows that if they open the door they'll both be contaminated. They planned to stay in there for 30 years or something. Finally the guy in charge lets the other guy out, he walks around for a while (they don't show it), and he comes back crying and screaming for the other guy to let him in, but he doesn't. Finally at the end, they show some people looking at a giant bubble dome thing, and they're talking about a nuclear disaster that was avoided by blocking off only that small area with it, or something. I dunno, just wish I knew what it was from though. It's been bothering me for years.
If you wanna live in a country ruled by religion, try Iran.
THe episode you are reffering to is called Shelter and is from the 1980s version of the Twilight zone. I really liked that one so was annoyed that it wasn't on youtube even though someone uploaed most of the series :(.
Lol, I know. I just found it myself. I called my aunt and asked her about it (she's watched every twilight zone, tales from the darkside, tales from the crypt, and beyond belief episode) and she said it was Shelter Skelter. Didn't find it on the net anywhere though, I would have liked to see it again, seeing as it's the only episode from my childhood that stands out in my mind.

There's no mention of Russia, nor is there any mention of UFO's - as in the 1961 episode. There's actually no false alarm of any kind - sorry for the spoiler.
TWZ was always more about the concept than the execution. I could make up some rationalization about them not planning on keeping people out. How they were merely thinking about keeping themselves alive. But really, they should have had a more solid door obviously. Really it was a great story though. Such a statement about society that is every bit as relevant today as ever.
