My friend and I lucked out. We were on the wait-list and some couple asked if we wanted to buy their tickets. We did and we got seats. This was the Sunday 01/28 viewing. The director was there and he did a Q&A after the film.

I don't want to reveal anything about the film, but I did like the ending because it was "different".

I assume somebody bought it? When will it be released?

reply

I don't think so, unfortunately. This article says that Padre Nuestro did not get a distribution deal at Sundance: http://www.nypress.com/20/6/news&columns/feature2.cfm

And I haven't found any other articles to indicate that it's been picked up since then.

Which is a shame, since it's an incredibly good movie.

'The Sound of Music' twice an hour, and 'Jaws' 1, 2 and 3.

IFC films purchased it, should have a small theatrical release in spring or summer. This is a very difficult to watch and depressing film. I thought it was well done and interesting but will leave the audience thoroughly depressed.

It comes out today at IFC Theater in Manhattan.

Would like to go see but am not in the city.

reply

That is why IFC On Demand (optimum) is your friend, lol. That is how I saw the film, since I live in the Bronx.

What world the world be if people weren't out making themselves better citizens?
