did his wife die at the end? the sheet was over her head and he lifted it up to look at her before he offed himself. a sheet over the body seems to me a pretty clear indication that it was her corpse..but she woke up and asked him if he ever loved her - was that just a dream while he was sleeping in her hospital room? or did she wake up and then die?
shareThe version I saw did not have her waking up and did not show him sleeping at that point, just sat there and looked sad, then the sound of the gun. Could they have cut it in some versions?
she woke up about half an hour before the end of the movie and spoke with him briefly. at the time of his suicide she appeared to be dead, but the death itself was unreferenced.
shareSorry this is really a late response but I just saw this movie. Do you remember when his wife was in coma the doctor said something like if she gets better is up to her? So she was probably still in not stable condition. When she woke up and asked the question and got the answer (not the answer from him but the answer she realized), that probably made her lose her will to live.
Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.
