The film needed to be longer. Not enough character development for me.
These films are too much about the action and less about story and character development. Don't get me wrong, the action scenes are great but I love the characters and want to know more about them.

shareUnderworld Awakening suffers from the same thing. As the first film managed to get an extended cut, there's always hope for Rise of the Lycans and Awakening. Having great action sequences is one thing. But they've failed on expanding on the story and the character development side of things. The first two films did a pretty decent job with both. But their running time was quite a bit longer.
