Didn't this movie suck ping pong balls?!!!!!

With every little scene the entire time I'm thinking how much better it could have been done and was done in the previous films. And did anyone else see the CGI blood for pete's sake , holy sh**! Pathetic right. I don't see how anyone could have liked this crap, If you did then go check out The Mummy 3 and the last half of Van Helsing where it turns to sh**. It reminded me of a SYFY original movie but with a larger budget.

"Where is Supertroopers 2, where is Chronicles of Riddick part 3, where is The Howling's remake? Or are vampire glitter and sh**ty Diablo Cody movies all we're gonna get?"

edit: hmm, looks like we got a riddick 3, unfortunately

What movie did you watch?

reply

No, this is the one without Kate Beckinsale but with computer generated blood right?

There's CG and practical blood, just like in the original two films. As for Kate Beckinsale, this was never supposed to be more of Selene's story, but the origin to Lucian and Viktor's rivalry, though their mutual arc does lead up to Selene's story. For the record, Kate did contribute a little to Rise of the Lycans. She performed the opening prologue's narration and allowed for an iconic shot of her to be used at the film's climax.

considering the vast majority loved this film, you are probably way off. the movie was a very good film. I am amazed at how some of you guys get off on thinking you are the new "experts" in how films should be made.

I think I am pretty good at spotting what films are good quality films. I really don't even know what would qualify anyone as an expert. I don't care how much money that movie made, it was not an overall good film. If you liked it, then that's your opinion, but I thought it was a money making scheme.

You wrote your post as if you went in expecting to be watching the china syndrom or the deer hunter but got stuck watching tom and jerry. What exactly did you think you were going to be watching? Too many people go into films with unrealistic expectations. Learn to stop projecting these expectations upon the film and just take the film for what it is. It makes the whole "film going experience" much more enjoyable.

I know right, these people are highly irritating in my opinion.

reply

I remember when the average film fan still had an imagination and didn't review film like one would review an electrical appliance.

So what if the effects weren't photoreal? Who cares, except the most imagination deficit morons out there?

Honestly, can these people watch old films? Put your '21st century Internet tech savvy' in the bin, and see things for what they are and how hard others worked to bring them to you.

All the media grazing sofa cattle here exasperate me endlessly. I would kill for a real conversation about genre film with somebody with a real appreciation for what makes it great. CGI has provided some amazing cinema, but it has also bred one of most literal and imagination dead of film generations.

EDIT - oh and I love it when a poster starts a thread totally lambasting a film, ripping it to shreds and leaving no room for discussion or debate (ironic then, that the poster made a thread!), only to later on, use the phrase, 'well it's just my opinion'.

It's great to have an opinion, but it's another thing to know how to use it. An opinion expressed solely in extremes is one that leaves no room for anybody elses, and in fact in itself acts to deny contrary opinions. Why people try to start discussion in such a way is beyond me.

No where near as good as Underworld. Hardly any sophistication to the story. Few locations. CGI doesn't usually bother me but I'd say it pretty bad, sort of in keeping with the rest.

reply

I didn't mind the first two, but personally I thought this one sucked horse balls.

My body's a cage, it's been used and abused...and I...LIKE IT!!

reply

i haven't liked any. The dialogue is trivial.
Let go of the blue, seriously, it's monorectum.
The lack of continuity is laughable.
The characters are often retarded

my fav moment in the series
in the second movie, the protagonists enter a research lab containing science type equipment and dismembered werewolves
selene (i think): "this is a research lab for experimenting on lycans"
michael (again, i think?): "... how can you tell?"

how dense can you get?

bring on blade 3... no wait, they did, it sucked.

The series is mindless action entertainment no doubt, mostly aimed toward a young audience. Still I found the first two mildly entertaining, the third was so hard to sit through for me however.

"mindless action" shouldn't try so freakin hard.

even a decent tragedy will contain elements of comedy
