This movie influenced a real-life child abduction, rape and murder

It turns out a sick SOB named Michael Rafferty downloaded this film shortly before he and his girlfriend abducted a little blonde girl walking home from school, raped her, then murdered her. Apparently, this mimics events in the movie.

I don't mean to blame the makers of this film in any way. A sicko like that would have found a way regardless of this movie. It is just sad that these people made this film with good intentions, and somebody used it as a how-to guide.

For the curious, the victim's name was Tori Stafford. A Google search will find you lots of news stories about this.

Um...I don't think you can say this movie "influenced" those useless pieces of trash in any way. Maybe those two boneheads hoped this movie would "educate" them, but my guess is they got bored in the first 10 minutes because it requires a little more attention span than those two dopes probably had.

And it's hardly a "how-to-guide." The kidnappers use the oldest trick in the book (I'm trying to find my dog) and this is supposed to be a how-to-guide??

Are you trying to say this movie glorified child molestation? That's not what I got from it. Any given night of Nancy Grace offers far more salacious details than offered here.

Sorry, but your attempt to say this movie "influenced" the horrific actions of two terrible humans is just irresponsible and idiotic. It's like blaming heavy metal music for murder.

Yes,they used old tricks that pedophiles use.But not to some little girl who's dad probably did'nt even want her daughter knowing what sickos there are out there.I remember my mom telling me when i was young that she would never send someone to pick me up under any circumstances.She said if it was'nt my dad or brother do not get in the car.I thought to myself why should'nt i except a ride from someone being nice.Little did i know sick people might want to sodomize a pre punescent me.
